I appreciate that these samples didn't cost all that much when you factor in the group buy (or even without it), but just like the Dimension Pro samples that are out of tune, this product has serious problems. "Knowing" they're flat is what bugs me the most. unless IK/Sonic Reality issues some sort of bug fix, you would have to fine tune each sample set manually and then save each one as a user patch but that could get quite tedious. "I-MAP places drums in their most flexible and intuitive position, allowing each of the fingers on both hands independent and coordinated control over the loaded kit."Īs far as retuning the strings. I don't know what iDrum is but what they do have is a proprietary keyboard mapping layout that they call iMap. It's an OCD sort of thing - everything must be in tune. I can't really tell it when I fool with them and replace some other softsynth with these patches, but in my head I "know" they're flat. I've not had time to dig into the manual yet, but is there an easy way to correct the tuning on the strings? I'd love to get them back to pitch. It'd probably be easier to buy EZdrummer and use the Humanize feature though. While I don't own iDrum and all my drum loops are GM mappings, I think it might be interesting to play with the iDrum ones to kind of de-computerize the sound. They've got General Midi mappings along with iDrum mappings. ![]() Besides, we all know SONAR users are the most knowledgeable, anyway! IK doesn't have a forum, so I can't really ask anyone there. If the sounds are too similar, I might have a phasing problem on my hands. I was hoping to add some EWQL or DimPro strings to SampleTank's strings, but now I'm not sure that'll work well. I haven't tried mixing these sounds in with non-SampleTank sounds, so I don't know how this will play out. The ones I've collected from third-parties aren't detuned at all. Many of the free samples IK gave away last year aren't detuned, though some are. ![]() Basically, this is the same as transposing it an octave.and then dropping it by 2 cents. Many in the Acoustic Guitar Collection 2 are either detuned by 2 cents or-get this-the pitch is transposed up 11 steps, and the fine-tuning is at 98. So.for those of you who've had time to play with your new sounds, have you noticed that most of them are detuned slightly?įor example, everything in Symphony Strings 2 is detuned by 2 cents.
